How do you find your ideal meal prep company? The world today is extremely different from the world that we lived in just two decades ago. We have gone from counting the hours of each day in order to fit everything into our schedules, to counting the minutes and who knows if we will be counting seconds sooner than later.
This new hectic lifestyle that we have adopted comes with a set of problems and the one thing we neglect the most when we are short on time is our diets. This is one of the main reasons why so many individuals are overweight and their nutrition is terrible, but the good news is that meal preparation business ventures have come to the rescue. I’m here to tell you and show you some of the key aspects I look for when I chose my meal prep company.
Everyone says they are #1 but does mean you take their word for it. It’s better to make sure that you spend a decent amount of time looking for the best possible providers. This means that you should do an extensive search online to see what options you have in your area as well as who ships nationwide. Once you have at least 2 or three, contact each one to find out what they are all about. Never go for the first option.
“Quality over quantity ingredients”
I can not stress the importance of quality when considering your food source. I mean really whats the point of investing time and money into your diet if the meals are going to contain artificial ingredients and crap nutrients. Hell, you can just go to McDonald’s for that. The goal is to enhance your diet with foods that your body can absorb and put to work for you. So, don’t cut corners and make sure that this is a priority when making a decision.
The freshness of the products used for your meals is going to be very important because it will determine the shelf life each meal has before it has to be eaten. On average fresh ingredients will last you a week. Keep in mind that some of the food you get could require defrosting for 24hrs until you can consume it. Most of products are fresh of the local farm providers that most of these meal prep business ventures are supposed to be using.
“They should have reasonable prices”
You can’t expect quality nutrition to be cheaper than junk food, but you shouldn’t have to take out a loan either afford it. Know that the little money you save by eating junk food could end up costing you much more in the long run on medical bills in the future. One of my past coaches gave me this analogy once “If you want to perform like a dump truck then keep on throwing garbage in your body, we train like Ferrari’s so spend the money for premium gas!”
“Look for customer reviews”
When all is said a done, reviews are one of the best ways to measure how good a business is when you are in a hurry. You should always look for customer reviews, athlete reviews. They are going to give you direct experiences from people just like yourself and insight about the companies values as well as customer service.
“Who’s my #1 pick?”
After countless interactions with so-called #1 brands, I’ve literally went through that gamete. My go to for the last 6 months and has been an in integral part of my training this year. Icon Meals, hands down. Not only is their food cover all of the aspects we discussed previously but its food you can actually enjoy in every box. Things like, “Kobe beef burgers, Sea bass, Brisket enchiladas” and don’t for Protein Popcorn flavors. Never forget that this is an investment that will help you live a healthier life. Life is short enough so control what you can and enjoy the rest!
